Julia Whelan and the team behind this Site are committed to making jmwhelan.com accessible to as many visitors as possible, including people with disabilities.
Our Approach
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which cover recommendations for making web content more accessible for people with a range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological limitations.
Steps we’ve taken include:
- Using clear heading structure and semantic HTML so screen readers can navigate the page logically
- Providing descriptive alt text for meaningful images
- Maintaining sufficient color contrast between text and background
- Ensuring the site is navigable by keyboard, not just by mouse
- Keeping page layouts responsive and readable across screen sizes and zoom levels
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas of the Site may not yet be fully accessible. This can include embedded third-party content (such as videos hosted on YouTube) or older press materials that fall outside our direct control. We’re working to identify and address these gaps over time.
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time fix. We periodically review the Site’s content and design and welcome feedback that helps us improve.
Feedback
If you encounter any barrier to accessing content or using features on this Site, please let us know: inquiries@jmwhelan.com
Please include the specific page and a description of the issue you encountered. We’ll do our best to respond and address the issue promptly.
Third-Party Content
Some content on this Site is provided by third parties (for example, embedded videos or links to press coverage, retailers, and social media). We encourage those platforms to meet accessibility standards, but we don’t control their accessibility compliance.
